Has anyone ever tried using autocad to edit/create a farm layout? I am not 100 percent sure on how to do this, however I do know that you can open 3ds files with autocad, as I did with the house file. The only problem really is converting them back...I can save the files as DXX but thats probably the closest that I will get to compatibility.....also if anyone knows of a good program to use to make a layout, let me know. I am going to try AC3D....Thank you

Have you tried exporting? Because 95% of the time if you can import a type of file, then you can export it aswell

Also with AC3D just practice with it for a bit, because the more you practice the better you'll get. Don't rush right in, play around, get used to things, other wise your layout wont look the best.

Good luck with your layout, just remember that you have todo the ground textures.

Also I would love to see pictures when you start making it.

Ok what should I use to edit the Ground texture TGA files, looks like AC3D can not open these. Kind of a pain as I was guessing where to put the fences that I made and stuff.

Outside of enrolling in a school program, what is the easiest way to learn AUTOCAD? I am going into the GIS field but it seems many employers also want someone trained in AutoCAD. Is there software available for me to learn it on outside of actually taking a class at a college? Or sites that offer training? Is it expensive to purchase it? Please anyone who has used AutoCAD please help me out!
