This is the worst topic ever to start cause it starts an argument but lets see if we can all do it without arguing ill go first. My facourtie brand of tractors is john deere, but i work on the pricnicpal of if its got the things listed its good enough.

.manual gear box
.air con
.4wd
.nice big wheels
.No duals at all
. comfy seat so i dont get backache.
.push out drawbar (preference)
.3 point linkage
.front linkage is always nice.
.125hp +

I like older tractors best, most cause it's not that much fancy stuff that can cause problems, just pure power. But to be realistic the new tractors and stuff sure are much better for the user, more comfortable and so on.

The make don't really matters to me but of the few new tractors i drive the JD has been real nice. But if we go back some years it is Ford.

Ive worked for quite a few contractors in my time and all have different makes and models of tractors.

My Favourite by far has to be the 64/74 serious masseys esp the 7495 which I used to drive a few years back.

John Deers I can stand, well the ones made in Germany but love the American built tractors like the 7930, They are solid and very well buit and love using them.

Newhollands have came along way in the past few years with there new T6000 and T7000 range, such an improvement on the old TMs lol.

I also use a T171 Valtra where I work, again a good tractor but could really do with someone to finish it off inside the cab.

Reet let the mud slinging begin lol

TurboAndy, I agree with you there my friend, I think the T6000 and T7000 are good, miles better than the TM's, however I still like our 2005 TM190. The T series Valtra is good too, I did 5 days work on one of them, a T171 and T191, good machines, one of them had the Versu transmission and the other one just had the standard transmission (forgotten the name), both models were good, plenty of power and good speed, but poor breaks. However the cabs were just a let down, very tacky compared to a Deere cab or a NH cab.

Nice to have someone new on here Smile
